Recap for Pretty Dirty Secrets, Webisode 1: A reservAtion

While there aren’t any new Pretty Little Liars Season 3 episodes airing until October 2012, there are a handful of sinister webisodes from the show’s spin-off webseries, Pretty Dirty Secrets, to look forward to every Tuesday night. Written by Kyle Bown and Kim Turrisi, these special eps will focus on Noel, Lucas, Garrett, Jason, Cece, and a new character named Shana as they prepare for the craziest Halloween bash Rosewood has ever seen. And where there are tricks and treats, there’s drama — and you betcha bottom dollar that we’re going to be living it up on abcfamily.com to capture it all.

Recap all the highlights from the first webisode entitled, “A reservAtion,” below”!

A reservAtion

Ha! See what I did there, bitches? Time for my fun to begin. - A

Someone’s lurking around the dark and dreary Halloween shop taking in all the costume options available to him/her. The shop is closed but, in Rosewood, a locked door is pretty much an invitation to break in and lounge about — kick off your shoes and rest a spell. Anyway, whoever it is, seems to be eying those killer clowns from outer space masks and we’re officially scared for our lives.

Guy Fawkes, pandas, and the insane clown posse all in one room. Is this heaven? - A

The mystery person sweeps the room again and — OMG — a blast from the past (as in one season ago in a little episode we’d like to call Friends and Butcher Knives Should Never Mix “The First Secret”). Need a reminder? Just imagine Hellraiser’s Frank Cotton at 18 months old tottering around town in a nun’s habit. Or simply look below:

Aww. Look at those dimples...deep like the abyss of my soul. - A

The handheld camera swivels around a little bit shaky for dramatic effect and whoever’s cruising for masks spots additional ones on the opposite end of the wall. Scream, Michael Myers, and Bozo the Clown stare back through empty eye sockets. Pip pip, mates! Top of the mornin’.

Who needs Taylor Swift when you've got role models like these guys? They slay me. - A

What else can we say about this lost soul? Hanging about without a care in the world — completely clueless to the fact that once Old Hallow’s Eve comes and goes it’s into the pie baking dish! RIP poor jack-o-lantern on Alison’s porch October 2011.

Pumpkin - Pretty Dirty Secrets

Baby, all I see when I look at you is a grande pumpkin spice latte. Your loss is my gain. - A

The A team always rings twice. “Ring a ling ling! Ring a ling ling!” trills the store’s phone. No one picks up — which is unfortunate because imagine what fun it’d be for us to witness the psycho intruder fielding customer care calls just to be polite. (Sigh. Truth be told though, we wouldn’t wish that on our worst enemies though.) So what happens next? Cue answering machine greeting: “You’ve reached the Rosewood Halloween Spooktacular Store. We’re open 8 am to 8 pm everyday including Halloween. Leave a message and we’ll get back to you.” Suddenly…dun dun dun — Creeper alert! “I’m calling to check on my costume. It’s under the name…BEEEEEP!” Of course we don’t hear the name because why would A convenience anyone like that? But the deep and sonorous voice sounds strangely familiar — and all of a sudden it dawns on us. It’s Kevin McCallister and he’s trying to pull a fast one on everyone with his old-school Talkboy recorder again. You can’t fool a ’90s kid, Kevo!

Old school and menacing, just like me. - A

The entertainment then ends on that shrill note and our arms sprout goosebumps. In fact, our goosebumps sprout goosebumps — that’s how unsettling this one minute episode is! And thanks to the people listed below, we’ll no doubt wake up in cold sweats screaming for our lives as visages of these ugly little masks infiltrate our dreams Freddy Krueger style.

Double the trouble. Just the way I like my teammates. - A

Moment of truth: We’re obsessed with PDS and can’t wait for the next one to air! So what did YOU think of the first webisode of Pretty Dirty Secrets? Who do you think was milling around the shop? Who was on the phone? Post your feedback in the comments and tune into an encore of “A reservAtion” below!
