Was it just us or did the Pretty Little Liars Season 3 premiere feel and look oddly familiar? Did anyone grapple with the fleeting sensation of “been there, seen that”? Specifically, there were certain lines, outfits, and tunes that triggered lost and deeply buried memories of Rosewood’s eeriest twists. And after rewatching the episode we knew we were not going all ‘Mona Vanderwaal’ crazy — the Season 3 premiere mirrored subtle yet significant plot points from the Pretty Little Liars Season 1 premiere…the first episode of PLL ever!
So, just in case you experienced an unsettling case of déjà vu while tuning in to the highly anticipated event, here’s a list of all the similarities between the PLL Season 1 premiere and the Season 3 one!

At the end of PLL episode 1.01, the Liars receive a text from crazy "A": "I'm still here, bitches. And I know everything." In "It Happened That Night" they receive another blast but this time the message is even more harrowing: "Mona played with dolls. I play with body parts. Whoa! Those are some freaky similarities! I can’t remember if Mona was in the pilot…if she was I wonder if anyone in the season 3 premiere mimics her lines/actions. That would be very suspicious!
The scenes from Season 1 Premiere and Season 3 Premiere are very similiar! Kinda creepy, but cool!
