The drama on Pretty Little Liars Season 2 continues to grow and PLL episode 2.18 was no exception! From a tender Emaya date night to Spencer’s bad-ass confrontation with Kate, “A Kiss Before Lying,” proved to be an unforgettable thrill-fest! (Even A kept the creeperific tradition going by hijacking Hanna’s phone and sending an obscene photo of Kate from it!) So, in honor of all the scenes that made us cry, laugh, and scream, let the recap fun for “A Kiss Before Lying” begin! (Smooches and falsehoods and drama…oh my!)

Five OMG Moments from Pretty Little Liars Season 2 episode 18!

A vicious text sent from Hanna's phone by a wicked person on Pretty Little Liars Season 2 Episode 18.Boil N’ Baggies: Hanna Marin tries real hard to make her stepsister Kate feel welcome in Rosewood. “My creepy adventures are your creepy adventures, girl.” (Well, she didn’t directly say that but we knew what Hannakins meant.) Unfortunately though for Hanna –and for Kate —someone’s seriously gunning for  Queen H’s throne (even though she’s certainly a sweeter royal than Alison DiLaurentis ever was) and will do anything in his/her power to take this blonde little liar down. Even if it means sending out Spencer’s blackmail photo of bug-bitten slash topless Kate to everyone in Hanna’s address book (which includes the entire Rosewood student body give or take). Poor Hanna knows she’s in humongous trouble with her parents — aka knows Kate is going to now torture her forever and ever — and totally panics. The only silver lining to spring from this ugly mess is that Hanna learns the importance in investing in a quality gym lock! (Took a almost two seasons but at least homegirl finally got it!)

Aria and Ezra go for a joyride on Pretty Little Liars Season 2 Episode 18.Tweed-le Dee, Tweed-dle Dum: Aria and Ezra rendezvous in his car. They talk about how Ella and Byron are definitely not possibly reconsidering their student/teacher relationship. And then, feeling a little dare-devilish, Aria unbuckles her seat belt to canoodle with Ez (who for some reason removes his eyes off the road just to kiss her back…he should so have gotten his ass pulled over for reckless driving.) Unfortunately though, the next night, Ezra gets summoned to a “Bring Your Best Tweed Jacket” affair. So he leaves Aria to her own doing (aka slipping into a blingalicious top and beating Holden at table ice hockey) and attends. The professor, scotch-filled fiesta is naturally way duller and stuffier than Aria’s night at Chuck E. Cheese. However, just as Ezra was trying his very best to hold back the perilous series of yawns inching across his face, some bearded geezer tells Ez about an associate dean’s position at the new Hollis satellite school. Ezra almost does a happy dance. It’s a dream come true! Well dream on then, E-man, because the school is in Louisiana and Byron’s the one who recommended you. (Meanwhile, Byron’s rubbing his hands together with glee and internally rejoicing, “See ya, sucka!”)

Maya and Emily kiss on Pretty Little LiarsSeason 2 Episode 18.Emaya: Emily and Maya are trying to work out the kinks in their relationship (ya know — Maya liking boys and Em’s mom Pam getting Maya shipped off to boot camp). And after a strange encounter with Noel Kahn (who apparently has turned into a tech genius who helps pretty girls fix their phones) and an even stranger dinner with Em’s mom (during which Maya awkwardly jokes that she has a stalker and that even jazz players like to puff the magic dragon), Maya still has room for dessert. Thankfully for viewers, this dessert comes in the form of three little words: “I love you, Emily.” (Maya confesses her treat feelings to Emily when Em pays her a visit to tell her she’s not worried about Maya’s bisexuality but rather all the extra competition she now has to deal with.) Needless to say, Emily breaks into a gorgeous smile and tosses the “L” word right back at her. Then, they stretch out on Maya’s bed and celebrate their relationship milestone with sexy kissing and heavy petting. Oh la la!

Hanna and Spencer stumble upon a huge clue in Pretty Little Liars Season 2 Episode 18.Vivian Darkbloom: Caleb may just about be better than Willow Rosenberg (and possibly the CIA) when it comes to enhancing images from itty bitty phone files. And the image he managed to salvage from the A wreckage is one major clue: a fake I.D. depicting Alison DiLaurentis’ with dark hair. Good grief! What is going on?! Flashback! “Hefty” Hanna (still not sure why she’s considered “big”) is perched up in a salon chair and a flashy hairdresser (with an unseemly Page Boy hair cut) is fawning over. “Daaarhling, I’m going to make you a star,” he practically drawls. Suddenly, Hanna hears a voice she recognizes…it’s Alison. Drinking Coffee. (Yes, she’s still 14.) And testing out a dark wig to see if brunettes truly have more fun. Oh, and she’s pretending to be some sap called Vivian Darkbloom. Why? “Cause I’m bored. I do it a lot…Aren’t you just sick and tired of being you?” (Hefty Hanna sighs and looks wistfully at Alison in all her cool “It” girl glory.) Flash forward! After apologizing to one another, sipping on tea, and crying a few good tears Hanna and Spencer decide to play a little game they like to call “Pretending to be Nancy Drew” by conducting an online search for “Vivian Darkbloom.” What did they discover in 1.2 seconds? That the name is actually an anagram for author Vladimir Nabokov who wrote the controversial Lolita, a novel bout a much older man’s infatuation with a young girl. (Hmm. Sound familiar?) Suddenly, Hanna asks, “Is that the book with the heart-shaped glasses on the cover?” Spencer nods. Hanna hurries to her bookcase and yanks out a copy. (Mind you, it’s the one she borrowed from Alison two years ago and never returned it. Lesson learned: Never lend anything to Hanna lest you’re willing to part with it!) Lo and behold, smack inside the worn pages of Alison’s copy is a claim ticket to J&L. What could this mean? Spence takes action and calls the place. Whatever it is they’re holding for this Vivian Darkbloom character…it’s still there! Dun dun dun!

Caleb is threatened by Officer Garrett on Pretty Little Liars Season 2 Episode 18.Good Cop, Bad Cop: Hanna, unable to hold onto so many dark secrets, tears up and finally opens up to someone about her family’s financial struggles, how they almost faced foreclosure on their house in season one…and how her mom robbed an old woman blind. The lucky new bearer of this humongous Marin household secret? Her honey boo Caleb of course. (All of Hanna’s other friends are too rich to understand the trials and sufferings of the middle class.) She also mentions that someone’s been using this information about her mom to blackmail her. And, because Caleb doesn’t like N.A.T. thugs messing with his pretty little lady, he bikes his way over to Jenna’s house. Unfortunately, Jenna isn’t there —but Office Garrett is just creepin’ around in the shadows! He blasts his sirens and pulls Caleb over (on his bike, which is weird…but anyhoo). With knuckles a-cracking and lips as tense as tightly wound electric wire, Garrett threatens Caleb to stay away from Jenna…or else. And just to show that he means business, he then tries to casually tries to run Caleb over. Caleb’s eye were like “WTF, dude” and Garrett’s eyes were as wide as saucers and positively gleaming with rage and maliciousness!

The Big Ta-Da: Aside from Holden’s huge-ass bruise that he apparently got from “flag football”? A. In Peter Hastings’ study. Picking the lock on his desk Lock. Reaching in and pulling out a….some boring legal files and aged bottle of scotch gun! A freakin’ gun!!! WTH is Mista H doing with artillery of this magnitude? And why would A need it?! Ay caramba! (Btw, A you fiend, love the gloves — how very stylish of you!)
