The Pretty Little Liars Season 3 mid-season finale was so full of mind-blowing shockers, that viewers are still trying to get past all the huge twists (and Spoby sex scene). And, personally speaking, we were left in such a catatonic state by the end of all the mAyhem that we could have easily have kept Mona company in Radley Sanitarium — no problem! However, the reveal and ulterior motives of the betrayer aside, there’s still one question that’s gnawing away at our PLL-loving hearts: Did Nate killed Maya St. Germain?
Truth be told, Nate — or, more accurately so, Lynden James — didn’t actually confess to the crime. The words, “I killed Maya” never left his lips. Although his violent and demented actions during “The Lady Killer” (i.e. holding a knife up to Emily’s throat, gagging and stuffing Paige into a closet, and trying to murder everyone) didn’t exactly make him out to be innocent in the grand scheme of things, we were still curious to know if another conspiracy was a-brewing in Rosewood.
Well, luckily we don’t have to fret any longer because the talented writer of the Pretty Little Liars Season 3, Episode 12 screenplay — Bryan Holdman — tweeted out all the juicy details. When a faithful PLL viewer asked Bryan, “So just to be clear—- Nate killed maya right!?” he confirmed the twist by responding, “Absolutely. Nate was Maya’s stalker from Tru North and he killed Maya.” He also went on to explain the reason for Nate’s crazy “freelance psycho” actions: “He was jealous. Maya broke it off at True North because she really loved Emily.”
We don’t know about you but we’re so happy that Maya’s murder has been solved and that Emily can finally have some sense of closure to all the heartbreak and pain. Do you agree? So tell us: Were you stunned to learn that “Nate” was actually Maya’s killer?
