If you thought that the Pretty Little Liars Season 3 summer premiere was something to run home about, then you clearly have not watched this year’s mid-season finale — “The Lady Killer”! We don’t even know where to begin — what with Spoby sex, Lindon James violence, cabin abduction, and gun control mayhem, the episode had us screaming from beginning to end. All we can say is that the PLL Season 3 mid-season finale terrified the living daylights out of us…and the most jaw-dropping part from the whole damn thrill-ride was A’s identity.
And who exactly is this new “A” who gets a happy from playing with the body parts of dead girls, scattering them all around Rosewood, and creating creeptastic jewelry from the bits and pieces? Wait for it…Toby Cavanaugh! TOBY CAVANAUGH?! OMG OMG OMG! (Will we ever stop shrieking OMG? Perhaps someday as we slowly drift toward a catatonic state from all the shock.) Did we expect this? Sure, we’ve all had our suspicions about him because, let’s face it, he’s one sketchy dude. He keeps to himself a lot and is more than physically capable of racing around town tormenting high school chicks. Nevertheless, just like Spencer has been doing throughout the past three seasons, we were really starting to fall for him and pegged him for one of those rebels whose big heart and kind soul were concealed somewhere underneath his bad-ass leather jacket (and super fine set of abs). We were gravely mistaken though according to the series of unfortunate events that occurred tonight…

Yes, it’s true, precious Pretty Little Liars viewers — Mona Vanderwaal’s vicious accomplice and fellow A-team member is none other than the stud with a “901 Free At Last” tat (the date of Alison’s disappearance) permanently plastered on his rib cage. Our THEORIES based on tonight’s HUGE reveal (again — nothing is set in stone in Rosewood — these are simply theories racing through our minds): He’s the one who shoved Ian Thomas off of the bell-tower to his death. He is the one who locked Spencer in the fun-house in Season 1. He is the one who dug up Alison DiLaurentis’ body and has been carting it around town. He’s the one who has been sending all those sickening, stomach-dropping texts. He is part of the A-team. Then again, it’s hard to believe that shy, contemplative Toby could be responsible for such monstrosities — what if he’s being blackmailed into performing such dark deeds to protect Spencer? Dun dun dun!

Okay so just like everybody else I was super excited when Toby returned, but I thought it was super random how he came back. It was almost to good to be true. The thing that got me super suspicious about Toby was when Toby and Spencer were about to have sex, THERE WAS AN UPSIDE DOWN RED A ON SPENCER’S WALL. I had to rewind a few times to catch it, but it definitely was a RED A. IT WAS A CLUE! Another sign was when Toby told Spencer he loved her. THE LOOK ON HIS FACE WAS FAR OFF AND DANGEROUS!!!
Ah, but is he the head A? Or maybe just Mona’s replacement?
Nice catch on the upside down A on the wall. I will have to go back and check on that out – that’s pretty awesome!
I don’t think Toby is the A-team ring leader by any means. Not just because of my wishful thinking, but because “really?” Wouldn’t that just be too easy for them to reveal his identity now? It just doesn’t make sense. It’s too anti-climatic. There must be another reason for his involvement, I’m still rooting for him.
Besides, the real A has to be a woman. The real “A” has more than a passing dislike for the liars, “A”’s down right diabolical. Vengeful to the core, methodical, patient and very good at getting others to do her evil bidding – besides let’s look at the facts, Toby got sex out of the deal. I really doubt he could hate Spencer as much as “A” does, but then take the time to stop for a Spencer treat before continuing with his evil plan.
I do find it ironic though that Spencer was the main driver behind the Paige as “A” theory and then as it turns out “A” was really her man, not Emily’s… Poor Spence – and she’s been looking so fabulous these days too.
I don’t think so. It would be too easy for the writers to reveal the two main As and there be nothing else. I want to believe that Toby is pretending to be A just to protect Spencer and the others since he’s the one who called Emily in that creepy voice warning her to get out. But then again idk. I don’t see how Mona or Toby knew Maya or Ian. But Ian obviously knew A. But then again A killed Ian so he wouldn’t kill Spencer. So maybe that was Toby trying to protect her. Idk, it’s all so crazy!
OMG!!!! So Toby is the one making the calls!?! So he has to be the one who called Em[ily] and warned her to get out! That makes me think! He has to be doing it for other reasons!

I was so upset when Toby was revealed as working with Mona!!! I love Toby! I’m pretty sure I’m still in shock. I’m completely onboard with thinking he’s doing it to protect Spencer. Or since he left to find out what’s going on maybe he’s like undercover =) Trying to help the girls from the inside. And yes this is just hopeful, wishful thinking because I love him =)
I can’t believe Toby is on the “A” team. After I watched the episode I went back to look at his face when he hugged Spencer good bye and at first he looked evil and suspicious but then I noticed it kinda looked like he was guilty and couldn’t believe what was about to go down. Also he did call Emily and tell her to leave. So I think he’s mainly on the “A” team so he can protect the girls and mainly Spencer and to keep them safe even though he uses that creepy voice so I’m still wondering.
I like Toby so I’m going to try to give him the benefit of the doubt. Earlier this season (Episode 8, Season 3) Spencer and Toby got in a fight because Spence is acting strange again, he ends up saying he is going to find out for himself. So, he goes away and DOES find out what is really going on, and ,like Mona did to Spencer in Season 2, the offer was extended to him as well. So he joins the “A” team as a double agent so he can find a better way to protect the girl he loves.
I must be the only person who is excited that Toby is on the A-Team…I want him to go away…He is creepy and gross looking and I can’t stand he & Spencer together. Too bad the writer’s of the show didn’t follow the books because if so, he would’ve been gone a long time ago! Hopefully, this is the beginning of the end of Toby **fingers crossed**…
I think it is more to the story than what is being said for one how did Mona get out? Did the doctor that likes Hanna hook her up? hmmmm Also how long has Nate or Linden been in cahoots with Toby and Mona? Is Jenna innocent? I don’t think so plus lets not forget Lucas and his crazy pictures. I think Allison harassed a lot of people and the ones she harassed are harassing her “friends”.

I think that Alison’s the real “A”, and I don’t think she’s dead. When Mona and Hanna played the OUIJA board it spelled ALIVE! Alison could still be alive!
There is definitely another person, maybe many people. When Mona got the call that there was a change of plans, Toby was off making out with Spencer so it couldn’t have been him.
As far as one of the parents being involved, I was thinking Aria’s dad because Ali new all about his cheating ways. Maybe he wanted revenge? Emily’s mom though, that’s an interesting point.
there is really a reason why Toby joined the A team .. let’s just keep it that way and hopefully that would be beneficial for both him and Spencer and the PLL girls .. I wouldn’t be surprised that one day Caleb would be also be joining the A team as well as Ezra.. laughs.. anyways, good work for the writer , nice shot for that revelations and twists in the story ..like in every story, mystery and suspense , we can never tell what will happen next.. Please don’t let down Spoby and Haleb fans …

in the scene where A- changes the channel to “wheel of fortune!” isn’t A- hanging up a new black hoodie? could toby have just joined and only joined to find out who A- is????
i think there are different kinds of A’s on the A team.
head: running the A team, only mona knows who they are.: ali and cece
core: the A’s that do most of the work: toby( i think he is a double agent though), mona, lucis, spencer?, and i don’t have theroys for the other two.
small parts: they do small jobs and don’t have hoodies: wren, spencer’s dad, aria’s dad, ian(in the past), malissa, and i will post more if i think of more later, right now i’m pretty pooped and had a hard morning of being
sick, as a had WAAAYYYYYY to much candy during watching the pll mid season finale, and can’t think! i probably won’t post for a while, because school is starting son for me.
I really hope tobys doing this to protect spencer!!!! or else ill be really sad….
you guys have to rememberthat even though toby really liked spence he also hadted ali for blaming him of the jenna thing, probably he got over it, but why was the reason that mona joined the A team at first? well because spence,e emily, and aria were taking her best friend, maybe thats why toby is on the A team but i dont know thats just a guess…

I think that Toby is on the A team to find out who A is but I don’t think he would tell the PLL because then it would ruin his plans. And also Toby could be A because Mona and Lucas hated Ali for making fun of them and Ali found out about Jenna and his secret so he could trying to get back at the PLL since Ali is gone. You intrepid fools! Toby is Spencer’s boyfriend, I don’t think he is the REAL “A”. You missed some opther odd clues of who A really is.
Go back to a PLL episode, THE FIRST SECRET. Alison finds a strange doll in the heater duct with a message saying it’s my turn to torture you. Another theory is saying that “A” was eating a bowl of Rainbow Sherbet while looking at the want ads in the local paper. More theories on the next note.
Now, Part 2. In another episode “Crazy,” Mona and Hanna had a seance about Alison using a OUIJA board, and they spelled the word ALIVE and Alison’s face appears outside Hanna’s window. Does that tell you something?
The real “A” withdraws $30K from anaccount, turns on WHEEL OF FORTUNE, and hands Toby a key to the hospital where Mona is committed.
Hint: Alison had a secret twin and THAT person IS the REAL “A.” Enough said. To be continued january 8th.
