It’s no surprise that Hollywood actress Troian Bellisario is a style inspiration to many of her fans. She’s proven she has the power to pull off even the most unimaginable ensembles while playing Spencer Hastings on Pretty Little Liars — and even in her everyday life, Troian knows how to rock an outfit to its fullest potential. Nevertheless, even the most fashion-savvy stars experience ‘fail’ moments just like the rest of us and poor Troian had a slightly nightmarish experience while attending high school in LA. Here’s what she shared with Entertainment Weekly at Tadashi Shoji’s New York Fashion Week show:
“My stepmother is Australian and we used to spend three months out of the year in Australia. She bought me Ugg boots. She was like, ‘We have these back home and everybody wears them, they’re super comfortable,’” the actress said. “I loved them, so I wore them to school one day — I’m from Los Angeles — with a mini-skirt. Nobody had ever seen Uggs before.”
Troian continues her cringe-worthy style story (which we have affectionately renamed ‘The Tale of The Ultimate Fashion Faux Pax: The Shoe Edition”:
“It was like that part in Mean Girls. I swear everybody around me was like, ‘Those are the fugliest shoes I’ve ever seen.’ I was so heartbroken,” Bellisario remembers. “I took them home and vowed never to wear them again. Three months later the Ugg craze hit. I was like, ‘You hypocritical bitches!’”

Aww! If we went to school with Troian we wouldn’t mock her outfit at all. Even though it doesn’t sound the slightest bit amazing or fabulous, it seems like a pretty standard outfit to wear to school. Plus, anyone who has ever tried on UGGs knows how comfortable and cozy they are!
